Hi everyone!

I’m Dr. Kaitlyn Rose, an ex-retail pharmacist, biohacker, freelance writer, & skin care enthusiast.

I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree after graduating with honors from Duquesne University in 2015. I chose to major in pharmacy because I really enjoy subjects like organic chemistry, human anatomy and physiology, and biology.

But what I love most about these subjects is how they apply to things I do every day. For example, the foods I choose to put in my body affect my energy level, my ability to concentrate, the health of my skin and hair, and my overall well-being.

Despite loving all of these pharmacy topics, I realized that a career as a retail pharmacist was not the right fit for me. I felt more aligned with preventative medicine, rather than reactive medicine. So I made a bold choice to leave this job, along with my six figure salary, behind in order to pursue my passions.

Luckily, I was given the opportunity to start working as a freelance writer for the skin care blog, The Derm Review. I have been writing about dermatology and skin care for the past three years.

I have struggled with several health issues, such as ADHD, adrenal fatigue, and anxiety. Initially, I sought help from conventional doctors & psychiatrists for these issues. Unfortunately, the “help” I received was a prescription for Adderall, which I was on for two years.

After realizing the side effects of Adderall were making my conditions worse, I decided to take my health into my own hands. Due to my love of podcasts, I stumbled upon Dave Asprey’s podcast Bulletproof Radio, which completely changed my life. I embraced biohacking, “the art and science of taking control of your own biology to be more resilient — mentally and physically.” It has been a slow process, but learning to biohack has truly enabled me to take control of my own biology and transform my health, happiness, and overall well-being.

And I want to help you to do the same!

I started this blog so that I can apply my knowledge on health, chemistry, and medications, combined with my own biohacking experience, to provide you with the best advice so that you can transform your own biology, too.
